Love this, Jenna. When I was in college an anthropology professor showed us some seeds that had been inside the great pyramid of Giza for 4000 years. He said they were still viable, and that the 4000 year 'rest' was just as important in their life cycle as their germination. I never forgot that. Action and stillness are eternal opposites, necessary for all life. Only our busybody egos want to interfere with Nature's divine plan.

I experienced something similar about three years ago when my husband encouraged me to leave a very stressful job. Before that, I had gone through two miscarriages, and deep down I believe the fast-paced, high-stress lifestyle I was living took a tremendous toll on my body.

After I quit, my body was finally able to rest. I also began practicing yoga, and I remember one moment so vividly, lying on my mat when an overwhelming wave of grief washed over me. I just sobbed and wept, finally allowing my body to release the sadness and loss I had been carrying for so long.

Rest gave my body space to heal. Six months later, I became pregnant, and now I have my busy little toddler, Noah.

I’m so happy you’re experiencing this level of peace. Who knows? You may even be blessed with another little one.
